Back In the Air! C4IP To Bring Back TMF ClubCam
Wednesday 3, December 2008 - C4IP Broadcast Innovation announced today that a deal had been reached to use C4IP distribution technology for the delivery of live feeds
from 14 discos around Holland to the European MTV/TMF head-end for real-time use in the TMF 'ClubCam' dutch music television live show scheduled to begin late Dec. 2008/early Jan. 2009.
C4IP's IP based family of encoders and decoders will be used exclusively for distribution of the live feeds from the discos into the head-end together with an innovative and
integrated "cross-talk over IP" solution to allow real time communication from the studio to the camera crew, on-location presenter, and vice-versa. Additionally, all live feeds
will be aggregated, switched, and selected via the C4IP Media Aggregation ServerĀ® located in the MTV/TMF head-end.
"This is another exciting step forward for C4IP and another opportunity for us to demonstrate our technology and our assertion that IP networks are ready for
professional broadcast distribution", said Joshua Dodds, acting General Manager for C4IP Broadcast Innovation, "This project is a poster child for that assertion and one which
will be for available for public viewing every weekend".
TMF ClubCam is a television program from TMF Nederland which originally aired in 2006. The program was aired weekly on Saturday night from mid-night until 1 AM and included
live video from the different halls inside of the Hollywood Music Hall. Viewers at home could vote for the hall and thereby the style of music they preferred most. The hall
with the most votes "won" the right to be the active live video feed for viewers at home.
The format and airing time for the re-vamped version of ClubCam is expected to be similar to the original show with the exception that the new show will involve multiple
discos throughout Holland in the "Battle". Furthur enhancements to the original format are also expected.
